We are seeking a detail-oriented Sports Action Photo Editor to support our high-volume workflow.
Position Overview
The Sports Action Photo Editor is responsible for efficiently reviewing large batches of sports images, selecting the strongest photos, and applying clean, consistent basic edits.
This is a production-focused remote role best suited for someone who works quickly, follows detailed standards, and enjoys high-volume editing work.
- Key ResponsibilitiesImage Culling
- Review and select the best images from high-volume sports galleries
- Remove duplicates, blinks, missed focus, and unusable frames
- Follow Iron City Studios’ selection guidelines and shot priorities
- Maintain consistent storytelling coverage of each athlete/game
- Basic Photo Editing
- Apply consistent white balance corrections
- Perform clean, consistent cropping
- Apply minor exposure adjustments when needed
- Ensure images meet company color and quality standards
- Maintain natural skin tones and uniform color across galleries
- File Management
- Follow strict naming and folder structure requirements
- Meet agreed turnaround deadlines
- Communicate promptly if issues arise
- Maintain organized workflow across multiple jobs
- Required Qualifications
- Experience editing sports or action photography
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy
- Proficiency in one or more of the following:
- Adobe Lightroom Classic (preferred)
- Adobe Bridge / Camera Raw
- Reliable high-speed internet
- Ability to follow detailed written editing guidelines
- Strong communication and responsiveness
- Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Experience with high-volume school or sports workflows
- Experience working with U.S. photography companies
- Ability to handle tight turnaround times
- Consistent weekly availability
- Compensation
- Paid per gallery (flat rate)
- Rate will vary based on gallery size and editor speed/experience
- Consistent weekly volume available for reliable editors
- Opportunity for increased workload with strong performance
