About the Company and Position
A leading global biopharmaceutical organization is expanding its Medical Affairs team and seeking a highly motivated Medical Science Liaison/Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to support a growing oncology portfolio. This field-based role offers the opportunity to engage with leading experts, contribute to high-value scientific exchange, and play a meaningful role in advancing patient care through innovative therapies.
The Medical Science Liaison serves as a trusted scientific partner to healthcare professionals, academic institutions, and key opinion leaders (KOLs), delivering high-quality clinical and scientific insights while ensuring full compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.
- Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary scientific point of contact for the Medical Affairs organization across your territory, building trusted relationships with healthcare professionals and thought leaders.
- Maintain deep and current clinical, scientific, and therapeutic expertise, enabling meaningful, high-value scientific discussions with the medical community.
- Develop and execute strategic KOL engagement plans, identifying and cultivating long-term collaborative partnerships with key opinion leaders and investigators.
- Lead scientific exchange with clinicians, researchers, and academic institutions, delivering accurate, balanced, and evidence-based information.
- Respond to unsolicited medical information requests, ensuring timely, compliant, and high-quality communication regarding clinical programs and data.
- Partner with Clinical Development teams by supporting investigators and research sites, including site identification and study-startup activities when appropriate.
- Translate field insights into actionable intelligence, sharing key learnings and trends with cross-functional internal stakeholders.
- Represent Medical Affairs at scientific congresses, advisory boards, and educational programs, strengthening the organization’s scientific presence.
- Uphold the highest standards of scientific integrity, compliance, and professionalism in every interaction.
- Drive excellence in territory strategy and collaboration, contributing to both individual performance and the broader success of the MSL team.
- What We Are Looking For
- Advanced degree required (PharmD, MD, DO, DNP, PhD, NP, PA, MSN, MS, or equivalent).
- Minimum 1+ year of Oncology MSL experience required * Oncology MSL experience is required, no exceptions.
- Experience in head and neck cancers preferred, though candidates from any oncology tumor background will be considered.
- Strong scientific and clinical acumen with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into clear, meaningful scientific dialogue.
- Exceptional relationship-building, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse healthcare stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 70%, including overnight travel).
