Job Title: Bookkeeper
Location: Long Island based, work remote.
About Us:
We are a small, dynamic design consulting firm, seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to join our team.
Part time preferred, potential to scale to a F/T position, retiree welcome. Hours are flexible, focus is on results.
Our firm values accuracy, integrity, and efficiency, and we’re looking for someone who can initially assist with invoice preparation and accounts reconciliation. This potentially leading toward more management task of our day-to-day financial operations.
Initial Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process invoices. Our format is that of an architectural firm.
- Manage collections and follow up with clients as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Support management with financial reports and data as requested
- Manage all bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks (required)
- Additional growth Responsibilities toinclude:
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, accounting clerk, or similar role
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (mandatory)
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
- Experience with payroll processing
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience in a consulting or professional services environment
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Employment Type: Part-time or full-time (depending on candidate availability and firm needs)
Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience
