About the position The role is for a corporate attorney at Confluent, focusing on M&A and public company representation. Responsibilities • Support M&A activities, including transaction execution, integration, and M&A legal program development. • Partner on domestic and international subsidiaries, international expansion, and global corporate compliance matters. • Support Finance business partners, including on treasury and tax teams. • Support legal aspects of SEC filings. • Support corporate governance matters, including preparing materials for Board and committee meetings, developing the proxy statement, and reviewing policies and charters. • Develop and implement processes and playbooks to enable continued scale within the Corporate Legal function. • Evolve with the needs of the Corporate Legal function as Confluent grows and matures. Requirements • Minimum 2-5 years' experience as a corporate attorney, including training in M&A transactions and securities laws at a law firm, in-house and/or via coursework. • Active membership in good standing in at least one state bar. • Excellent legal and business judgment with the ability to assess and communicate risks to business partners in a clear and actionable way. • Ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision, and manage multiple projects/meet deadlines within budget and with consistently high-quality work product. • High level of integrity, team orientation, and treating others with respect. • Growth mindset, positive attitude, resilience, and ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. • A desire to work with others who are also smart, humble and empathetic, and who enjoy working as one team to get things done!
