About the position Maximus is currently seeking a well-organized individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to fill our Associate Consultant role in our Financial Services group. This is a Hybrid opportunity. It is full-time and will assist in cost allocation plan development, cost analysis, indirect cost rate development, and provide support to the project manager/team members. This position will also be responsible for analyzing client accounting and/or financial information and developing solutions to achieve financial objectives. Candidates must be detail-oriented and possess problem-solving skills. Additionally, candidates will possess an intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Excel (includes familiarity with pivot tables and VLOOKUP formulas), PowerPoint, Word, and Teams. Candidates must also possess a fundamental understanding of basic accounting principles/concepts and an interest in local municipalities and state government. The candidate should possess the ability to work in a team environment or independently and demonstrate initiative (i.e. proactively seeking out tasks. Professional Development Opportunities - Participate in training programs, workshops, and conferences Responsibilities β€’ Perform cost allocation and cost of service studies for state and local governments. β€’ Support projects/initiatives by analyzing costs, processes and procedures for government agencies. β€’ Gather necessary client financial information, analyze accounts, and prepare reports documenting findings of such analysis. β€’ Facilitate meetings or conducts interviews with clients. β€’ Participate in client meetings. β€’ Achieve and/or exceed client satisfaction metrics that will increase satisfaction annually. β€’ Manage the activities of projects in accordance with Maximus established policies and procedures. β€’ Perform other duties as may be assigned by management. Requirements β€’ Bachelor's degree with 0-3 years of experience consulting within designated function. β€’ Able to develop solutions to moderately complex problems. β€’ Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree. β€’ Intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge or experience, with a particular emphasis on Excel required. β€’ Must be able and willing to travel as client needs necessitate. β€’ Must be willing and able to work both onsite in our Richmond, VA offices as well as remotely. β€’ Internet speed of 20mbps or higher required (you can test this by going to www.speedtest.net). β€’ Connectivity to the internet via either Wi-Fi or Category 5 or 6 ethernet patch cable to the home router. β€’ Must currently and permanently reside in the Continental US. Nice-to-haves β€’ 1 year of experience working for Maximus preferred. β€’ 6+ months of related work or internship experience preferred. β€’ Understanding of cost accounting/cost allocation concepts preferred. β€’ Knowledge of governmental accounting principles preferred. β€’ Familiarity with local government operations preferred.
