As a Civil Engineer on the Development Engineering team, you will manage site design and technical diligence for renewable energy projects, ensuring efficient and constructible layouts while collaborating with various stakeholders. Responsibilities β’ Support project development from concept to completion, identifying and mitigating design, budget, and schedule risks, with a focus on civil engineering β’ Own and manage site constraint maps, layouts, and designs, coordinating with external consultants and EPCs β’ Optimize civil site layouts for efficient land use, considering factors like equipment selection, topography, environmental constraints, and permitting requirements β’ Manage and coordinate site technical diligence activities, including hydrology and geotechnical studies β’ Provide civil engineering support during EPC contract execution Skills β’ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience) β’ 2+ years experience in design, project management, or construction of renewable energy projects β’ Solid understanding of civil design principles, technical diligence processes, and EPC construction standards for renewable energy projects β’ Ability to identify and mitigate risks, analyze opportunities, and make sound engineering decisions β’ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in a cross-functional and collaborative environment β’ Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively β’ Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of civil design principles, technical diligence processes, and EPC construction standards for renewable energy projects is preferred β’ Renewable Energy Expertise: Working knowledge of wind and/or solar, including system design, optimization, and cost drivers is preferred β’ Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D β’ Familiarity with automated layout tools and geospatial analysis software β’ Experience in grading, stormwater management, and erosion control β’ Experience with all phases of project development, from siting to construction Benefits β’ 100% premium coverage for you and your dependents on medical, dental, and vision β’ Unlimited PTO, plus two company-wide breaks (Fourth of July & end of year) β’ Up to 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave, plus 6 additional weeks for birth parents; access to family planning support via Carrot β’ Free access to Ginger coaching and counseling, plus a Headspace account for mindfulness and meditation β’ 3% non-elective employer contribution to your 401k or RRSP, ensuring your financial future is on the right track β’ $150 monthly food stipend, pet insurance allowance, and full home office setup Company Overview β’ We focus on the co-location of industrial demand with dedicated hybrid-power generation.
