About the position Responsibilities β€’ Contribute to developing, designing, and configuring the UNLV Salesforce organization to effectively support business processes leveraging Salesforce best practices and alignment with overall sales and service requirements. β€’ Build Salesforce applications using Apex and Lightning Component Framework and leverage the full capabilities of the Salesforce platform to support the university's programs. β€’ Apply best practices and design patterns of best-of-breed applications developed on the Salesforce.com platform. β€’ Develop proofs of concept (POC) as needed, integrating new components with back-office systems during the design and requirements phase to evaluate products and integration strategies. β€’ Assist in creating testing and implementation plans, including user training and documentation. β€’ Remain current with Salesforce technologies and best practices. β€’ Assist in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving defects encountered during different stages of project delivery, including during the deployment and implementation of the solution in production environments. β€’ Interact directly with customer, project team, and other stakeholders to ensure customer success. β€’ Own support cases that require advanced problem solving for our diverse user base. β€’ Assign day-to-day work for assigned Graduate Assistants. Requirements β€’ Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. β€’ For Associate Salesforce Developer: Minimum of 1 year experience with Salesforce Ecosystem systems and best practices, 1 year experience with application and software development, and 1 year of experience with Apex and the Lightning Component Framework. β€’ For Journey Salesforce Developer: Minimum of 2+ years experience with Salesforce Ecosystem systems and best practices and a Salesforce App Builder Certification. β€’ Basic understanding of software engineering concepts. β€’ Good communication and collaboration skills. β€’ Adequate troubleshooting skills. β€’ Entry-level knowledge of all levels of the SDLC and all testing phases. β€’ Working knowledge of using modern IDEs (VSCode, IntelliJ) and Source Control tools (Git, SVN). β€’ Basic understanding of relational databases. Nice-to-haves β€’ Salesforce Platform Developer 1 and Salesforce App Builder certifications. β€’ Experience in a higher education environment, particularly in a 4-year, large public R1 university. β€’ Some experience with the greater Force.com developer toolkit (Visualforce, Force.com IDE, Workbench, Force.com Migration Tool and Metadata APIs). β€’ Basic knowledge of Agile Accelerator, Jira, or Confluence to project manage. β€’ Entry-level experience developing Lightning Components (Aura) and/or Lightning Web Components. β€’ Basic knowledge of and experience with CI/CD methodologies and specifically, the Gitlab/Salesforce CI/CD pipeline setup and configuration. β€’ Experience with the Education Data Architecture (EDA) and Student Success Hub (SSH) managed Salesforce packages and/or Salesforce Education Cloud.
