Position: Faith Formation Assistant β OCIA Status: Part-Time, Occasional Date: September 24, 2025 Reports to: Director of Music Location: St Ann Catholic Church 100 SW Alsbury Blvd Burleson, Texas 796028 www.fwdioc.org General Position Summary: Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the process by which non-Catholics and adult Catholics receive the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation). It is the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith as a member of the Mystical Body of Christ. The OCIA assistant will work in tandem with the Director of Faith Formation in preparing the candidates for OCIA. Principal Accountabilities: β’ Assist Director of Faith Formation in planning, preparing, coordinating all areas of the OCIA program β’ Coordinates catechists, aides and other volunteers for the OCIA journey β’ Help and participate in catechist formation programs β’ Maintain records for individuals in the OCIA program β’ Maintain resources for OCIA including ensuring facilities are reserved, prepared and opened, program materials are available and ready, audio/visual equipment is available and functioning for all programs Supervision Given and/or Received: β’ Supervised by the Director of Faith Formation Internal Contacts: β’ Pastor β’ Director of Faith Formation β’ Business Manager β’ Other Parish Staff External Contacts: β’ Diocesan Staff β’ Parish Volunteers β’ Leaders/staff of the other Parish Offices Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements: β’ Ability to accept work interruptions while still remaining focused on duties β’ Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance and up to 60 pounds with assistance β’ Able to sit and perform computer work for lengthy periods of time. Frequent use of a computer keyboard that requires repetitive hand and wrist movements β’ Frequent walking and standing β’ Regularly able to work evenings and weekends, especially throughout the school year β’ Able to maintain confidentiality of personal data received and related to contacts in this position Travel Requirements: β’ Limited travel may be required within the greater DFW area Education and Experience Preferred: β’ Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing β’ High School Diploma or Equivalent required β’ Evangelization and Catechesis training preferred β’ Religious education experience in a Catholic parish a plus β’ Ability to work with adults and children of all ages and backgrounds required β’ Successful completion of the Diocesan Safe Environment process required Knowledge and Skills Preferred: β’ Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Canva required β’ Organizational skills including time management, planning and resource management required FLSA Designation: Non Exempt, Part-Time, 21 hours per week Apply tot his job
