Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (Google Cloud Platform & Kubernetes) Location: - Hartford, CT (3 days (Tue, Wed and Thursday) in the office and 2 remote) Job Description β€’ 12 months to start with potential to extend β€’ Google Cloud Platform is a must, 3 ppl in Harford - 9-person team, β€’ Interview: 2 rounds and possible 3rd, panel interviews with 2-3 CME s Key Responsibilities β€’ Architect, deploy, and maintain scalable data infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform with a focus on Cloud Composer (Airflow) and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE). β€’ Manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes, including lifecycle management, networking, monitoring, and troubleshooting. β€’ Collaborate with data engineering teams to migrate traditional workloads to containerized platforms. β€’ Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Git, and Terraform. β€’ Ensure observability and reliability of data pipelines and containerized services using Prometheus, Grafana, and other monitoring tools. β€’ Apply best practices for container security, image vulnerability scanning, and configuration management. β€’ Support both open-source and Google-native technologies that interact with Composer and GKE, such as Cloud SQL, Big Query, Pub/Sub, and Artifact Registry. β€’ Support day-to-day platform operations. Required Qualifications β€’ 5+ years of experience with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, GKE, AKS, EKS). β€’ 5+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, including IAM, networking, and resource management. β€’ 5+ years of experience deploying and managing Docker containers in production environments. Preferred Qualifications β€’ Experience with Helm, Terraform, and Jenkins for deployment automation. β€’ Exposure to SQL, NoSQL, and CloudSQL databases. β€’ Experience migrating legacy applications to containerized platforms. β€’ Knowledge of open-source data tools and Google Cloud services that support large-scale data environments. β€’ Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture, including control plane components and networking. β€’ Experience with Python (5+ years), especially in the context of automation and data workflows. β€’ Experience with Composer (Airflow) DAG development and orchestration. β€’ Proficiency in Linux-based infrastructure and scripting languages (Bash, Python; Java and GoLang are a plus). β€’ Familiarity with container monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting tools.
